Niagara is a location full of wonder and breathtaking scenery. From lush vineyards to nature trails, the area also offers a variety of unique events year round. The region is the southernmost point of the province, providing convenient access to the United States. Niagara is a well-known tourist destination, and every year millions of people visit to witness the breathtaking beauty of Niagara Falls and the various wineries spread throughout Niagara-on-the-Lake.
The Region is made up of 12 municipalities; Lincoln, West Lincoln Grimsby, St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls, Pelham, Welland, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, and Fort Erie.
The unique area has various nature trails and waterfalls that wind throughout the Niagara Escarpment. The Welland Canal runs from one end of the Region to the other, creating a passage for ships between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. Niagara is also home to both Brock University and Niagara College, making it the perfect place for families with children to call home.
The population of the Niagara Region nears 450,000 as of 2016 and is continuing to grow every day.
