Things To Do: March Break in Hamilton & Halton

Looking for fun things to do during March Break? There are so many places to visit & things to do in Hamilton, and the Halton area.

Head on over to Bronte Creek Provincial Park and check out the Maple Syrup Festival – an outdoor event for all ages. Admission is $17.00 per car & if you bring your puppies, make sure they’re on a leash. While you’re there, stay awhile and explore the trails, let the kids play at the Play Barn or climb the big hill and look over Burlington/Oakville.

If you’re in the Hamilton area, you can check out the Maple Syrup Festival at Westfield Heritage Village. Be prepared to take a step back in time; it has over 35 historical building to browse through, and are surrounded by acres of beautiful woods and trails. Admission rates are: $12 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+), $6.50 for ages 6-17 & kids 5 and under are free.

The RBG (Royal Botanical Gardens) in Burlington is another awesome place to explore. As a born & raised Burlingtonian, the RBG has always been a fun spot to visit with family or friends, and they have so much to offer. Their website describes them as, “a living, interactive museum filled with natural wonders, including 1,100 hectares (2,700 acres) of breathtaking gardens and spectacular nature sanctuaries.” Thats’s not even it… there’s also 32 km of trails, the world’s largest lilac collection & they offer fun events such as ‘Frogs!‘ that’s currently running at the main centre at 680 Plains Rd. West. Admission costs are: $14.16 for adults, $11.50 for students & seniors, $7.96 for ages 4-12. Or, just buy your family an annual pass so you can keep on enjoying everything that the RBG offers, year-round.

The Burlington Public Library always has great stuff going on, especially over March Break. During the next few days, they have fun things at each location such as a comedy magic show by Bumbling Bert, Lego activities, a Bubbleology show with Miss T, Yoga story time & so much more.

For the art lovers, head over to Crock-A-Doodle on Dundas St. in Burlington, where you can check out their drop-in studio & create a personalized piece of art. They also offer March Break classes that run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily; $28/class and that includes pottery, adult supervision & pizza.

Some other fun ideas include:

Geocache – great option to get outside, get moving & go on an exciting adventure
Jump Around – check out one of the many trampoline places in the Hamilton/Halton area, such as Rockin’ Jump or Flying Squirrel & get your jump on
Catch a flick – head over to Landmark Cinemas, Cinestarz, or Cineplex to check out some new movies
Give back – do something meaningful for the community by picking up trash, volunteering, or collecting money/consumables to donate to a local charity or food bank
