Victoria Day Weekend
We’ve finally made it to another long weekend – what have you got planned? If you’re looking for something to do, here are some suggestions..
Open Houses
Take a look in your local newspaper, online, or check out my listings to see if any properties catch your eye that are having open houses this Saturday or Sunday. These usually happen between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and if you haven’t toured a home before, it’s a great way to get an idea if it’s the right place for you. Pictures are a great way to feature a home, but actually going to see it in person is helpful.
If you’re looking at homes in Burlington, there’s an open house going on this Sunday, May 20th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 2255 Joyce St. This beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is located close to amenities such as the Burlington Mall, has close access to major highways, schools and parks. Come check it out!
Another great property in Burlington that is being showcased on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. is 327 Goodram Drive. This is another beautiful 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home that is located a short walk from Lakeshore Rd and Lake Ontario. It is located in an older, mature neighbourhood that is close to amenities and not far from the downtown core.
Garage Sales
Again, check your local newspaper or online listings to see which homes and areas are hosting garage sales. This is the time of year when people are spring cleaning and ridding their homes of unwanted items. You might find a great new piece of furniture, art, vintage items; the possibilities are endless! This is also a great way to get outdoors, explore a new neighbourhood, and maybe meet some new people.
Cottage Country
If you have the opportunity, pack up your car and head North to beautiful cottage country that Ontario has to offer. Whether you have your own cottage, visit a friend or family’s place, or find a great rental – it’s the place to be this weekend! Remember to drive safe, take your time, and start the party only after you arrive at your destination.
Staycation/Explore Your City
If you’re in Burlington, check out the downtown area by taking a stroll at Spencer Smith Park to see the Brant Street Pier, have lunch on a patio at one of the many delicious restaurants in the downtown core, or find a nice little spot to have a picnic and people watch.
You can also check out:
If you’re in Hamilton, there are so many new (and old!) restaurants to check out, take a stroll up and down Locke St. or Ottawa St. and check out all of the different stores each street offers, grab a delicious donut from Donut Monster or Grandad’s Donuts, or explore one of the many interesting museums or points of interest such as Battlefield House, Dundurn Castle, or Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
Hope everyone has a safe and fun long weekend!
